Usage of Benoquin

How often do I need to use Benoquin?
You will need to use Monobenzone 20% cream 2-3 times a day unless irritation develops. Once you depigment fully, reduce use twice a week.

Can I use Benoquin as skin lightner, and stop after few months? 
No, Benoquin is not skin bleaching cream. Benoquin frequently produces irreversible depigmentation, and it must not be used as a substitute for bleaching.

How should Benoquin be used?
You should apply Benoquin as a thin layer to normal patches of skin that you want to lighten. Rub in gently avoid contact with eyes and inside the nose or mouth. You should apply Benoquin 2-3 times daily for up to 4 months as it may take time to lighten normal skin color to match the paler skin. Once you have achieved the skin color you desire, continue using Benoquin to maintain this color by applying up to twice a week.

How long should you use Benoquin?
Once you have achieved the desired skin color you may reduce the dose up to twice a week to maintain the color.

What should I do if I missed a dose of Benoquin? 
If you miss a dose of Benoquin take it as soon as you remember, unless it is time to take the next dose, then skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose.

Safety & Precautions 

When should Benoquin not be used?
If you are allergic to monobenzone or any ingredients in Benoquin. If you want mild cosmetic bleaching of the skin. If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding.

Is Benoquin safe to use during pregnancy?
During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks  & benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.

What if I stop using Benoquin all of a sudden?
If you stop using Benoquin before you complete your treatment you run the risk of repigmenting. However, once you complete the depigmentation treatment you can reduce the dose to maintain the desired color.

What is the maximum concentration of monobenzone that can be used? 
The maximum concentration of monobenzone that can be used is 20% in cream base. It is effective and enough for the treatment of vitiligo.

Do we have FDA license for this product?
Yes, this product is manufactured under FDA license with cGMP guidelines.

Does Benoquin cause acne?
There is no direct link between Benoquin and/or monobenzone and acne, however, if you notice that it is causing acne; consult your doctor.

Will Monobenzone 20% cause white spots?
White spots are caused because the mechanism in which Benoquin works to destroy the melanin cells is random.

How should Benoquin be stored?
You should store your Benoquin below 25°C in a cool dry place.
